FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about Atlas Correction
The term "Atlas misalignment" refers to the condition where the first of the seven vertebrae that make up the cervical spine, known as the Atlas or C1, is shifted from its physiological position in relation to the skull.
The Atlas vertebra can become misaligned by rotating, shifting laterally, or being locked in an excessively forward or backward position relative to its normal alignment with the skull. This misalignment can affect the second cervical vertebra, known as the Axis, triggering a chain reaction that disrupts the balance of the entire musculoskeletal system. The maximum rotation of the Atlas, as measured radiologically, can reach up to 8 degrees.
Atlas misalignment is not comparable to a simple cervical muscle contraction or joint blockage as understood in osteopathy and cannot be corrected through basic manipulation or a simple massage.
Given the limited physiological rotational mobility between the Atlas and the occiput, it is reasonable to assume that the cause of its misalignment is traumatic in nature.
Birth trauma is considered the primary cause, as misalignment is often observed even in newborns.
The presence of this misalignment before a child learns to walk rules out the theory that ascending postural issues, such as pelvic obliquity or scoliosis, are the primary cause of the misalignment. By "ascending," it is meant a cause originating from below.
Other theories suggesting that dental malocclusion or jaw deviation is the cause of Atlas misalignment are refuted by the fact that a newborn, without teeth, can already show a misaligned Atlas.
Although such issues may negatively affect the cervical spine and posture, they do not represent the primary cause of Atlas misalignment.
In most cases, it is the misalignment of the Atlas itself that is the primary, direct or indirect, cause of numerous symptoms and disorders, rather than the consequence of them.
The proof of this lies in the extraordinary and lasting results obtained daily at AtlantoMed centres, where the focus is mainly on the Atlas (refer to the testimonials below). The topic of the Atlas has many facets, and its misalignment triggers a series of effects that you can explore by carefully reading our site.
Other possible causes of misalignment include trauma following birth, such as whiplash, accidental falls, or intubation during surgeries under general anaesthesia. These events can cause or worsen the misalignment of the Atlas or other underlying cervical vertebrae.
An Atlas misalignment can have various consequences that manifest in different ways, affecting the balance and well-being of the entire body:
The assessment of the Atlas position can be carried out using two methods:
PALPATORY EXAMINATION: Determining the Atlas position through palpation requires specific skills and extensive experience. An examination performed by an unspecialised therapist can have a margin of error of up to 50%.
RADIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION: The alternative is a spiral CT or Cone Beam scan, a more precise but more expensive option with potential health risks due to exposure to ionising radiation.
In specialised AtlantoMed Centres, palpation is performed with the utmost expertise, significantly reducing the margin of error, which is why this should be the first choice.
Radiological examination is appropriate only in particular cases, at the discretion of the Atlas specialist in collaboration with the attending physician.
It is important to emphasise that no one can diagnose Atlas misalignment solely based on the patient's symptoms, as these can have multiple causes. Consulting a qualified AtlantoMed specialist with experience and competence is the most sensible choice for an accurate manual examination.
If the test, which takes only a few minutes, turns out negative, there will be no costs incurred.
Please understand that it is not possible to assess the Atlas position via email or phone based solely on symptoms. To obtain an accurate assessment, you need to visit an AtlantoMed Centre.
In general, medical reports and radiological examinations are NOT necessary. Only in rare and specific cases may a computed tomography scan be indispensable, as evaluated by your AtlantoMed specialist after an in-person examination.
X-rays and MRIs are generally useless for visualising and assessing Atlas misalignment. Only a correctly performed computed tomography can precisely identify the Atlas position in relation to the skull.
Errors are frequently observed in Atlas assessments carried out by therapists or physical medicine doctors who are not specialised in Atlas correction. They tend to focus on muscle conditions and head mobility without evaluating the true position of the vertebra.
The manual palpation techniques taught in training courses often come from "professors" who, unfortunately, have never radiologically verified the effectiveness of the tests they propose. These methods have been transmitted from theoretical sources, such as books, or from other instructors who, in turn, have never conducted concrete verifications.
As already emphasised, the use of a simple X-ray or MRI is not sufficient to determine the precise position of the Atlas. What are the consequences of this?
Exactly! The actual position of the Atlas is not correctly identified. If the initial position of the Atlas is not known with certainty before treatment, nor whether it is actually misaligned, how can proper correction be carried out? How can it be claimed that the problem has been resolved and the vertebra aligned? If it was not possible to determine its position before treatment, it is unimaginable to do so afterward. As a patient, you have no way to verify what you are told and often find yourself having to blindly trust the therapist's or doctor's statements. Unfortunately, these claims are often unfounded. Immediately after manipulation, you are told that the vertebra has been corrected, but at the next visit, you are informed that it is out of place again, justifying the need for further corrections, creating an endless cycle that keeps you as a patient.
We invite you to reflect on why AtlantoMed can solve the problem permanently with just two sessions, while other therapists, with their few-second manipulations, offer ongoing treatments. Although "subscription" patients are much more profitable, why are two sessions usually sufficient at AtlantoMed, except for rare exceptions? Perhaps because we adopt a completely different approach aimed at addressing the root cause of the problem?
Treatments performed by operators who are not specialised in the Atlas, without AtlantoMed's specific techniques and equipment, may at best modify the surrounding muscle tone or temporarily improve neck mobility but do not genuinely correct the vertebra's position. The patient leaves the therapist's office convinced that alignment has occurred but continues to live with a misaligned vertebra, just as before the treatment, with all the negative consequences this entails.
In our training courses to become AtlantoMed specialists, aimed at qualified physiotherapists and osteopaths, we observe significant discrepancies in the assessments of the same vertebra, with even 2, 3, or 4 different and contradictory evaluations. And we are talking about experienced and qualified professionals you would typically consult.
Don't believe it? Try having your Atlas manually tested by 5 different chiropractors, osteopaths, or physical medicine doctors after undergoing a spiral CT scan that reveals the vertebra's position in advance. The results might surprise you!
We also recommend consulting our FAQ: "Is my trusted therapist capable of correcting the Atlas?" for more information.
The correction or realignment of the Atlas is a therapeutic treatment (not a surgical procedure) aimed at mechanically restoring the correct alignment of the first cervical vertebra (C1) in relation to the skull and other cervical vertebrae.
The terms Atlas correction or Atlas realignment are increasingly being misused to describe treatments that have nothing in common with a true Atlas correction.
This type of treatment can be successfully performed only with the assistance of a specific device based on the principle of Vibro-Resonance. The AtlantoVib device is developed and manufactured by AtlantoMed.
The AtlantoMed Atlas correction is a unique method, distinctly different from other known techniques, especially for the quality of results it can achieve.
Unlike common chiropractic or osteopathic cervical manipulations, this treatment avoids the feared sudden and abrupt head movements, often considered risky.
AtlantoMed demonstrates its ability to produce lasting results in most cases. For a more in-depth understanding, we invite you to watch the AtlantoMed introductory video.
The Atlas correction treatment using the AtlantoMed method requires ONLY 2 SESSIONS, usually spaced 5-8 weeks apart. In particular cases, the treatment may be preceded by a preparatory session.
Although the Atlas tends to maintain its correct alignment, the treatment does not make one immune to new muscle tension that can arise due to factors such as chronic stress, mental overload, anxiety, or a craniomandibular dysfunction. In such cases, it is possible to book a massage session with the AtlantoVib device to relieve specific muscle tension or other discomforts.
Here you can find all the information about the costs and duration of the AtlantoMed treatment.
Atlas correction is a treatment that must be performed by specialised operators capable of competently managing both the assessment and correction of the vertebra.
Using our therapist search page, you can easily find the nearest AtlantoMed Centres, with immediate information on waiting times for an appointment.
Only the professionals listed there are affiliated with AtlantoMed. There are no other AtlantoMed Centres outside of this list. If a therapist is not on the list, they are not authorised to use our method. Therefore, it is important to be cautious about whom you trust! If you encounter others who speak about Atlas correction, often using information copied from us, know that this does not guarantee they provide the same type of treatment or achieve the unique results of the AtlantoMed method.
To protect the quality of the treatment, there are currently no AtlantoMed Centres in Italy. After evaluating over 50 Italian "professionals," we realised that many, without fully understanding our method, were concerned that the treatment was too effective, as a definitive recovery would reduce their profits. Some even suggested shortening the sessions to 30 minutes instead of 2 x 75 minutes to maximise earnings, without considering the treatment's effectiveness.
We find such attitudes unacceptable, as our commitment is to the long-term well-being of patients. For this reason, we prefer to focus on countries where there is a more ethical and patient-oriented approach to healthcare.
We ask you: would you entrust your method, the result of such dedication, to individuals lacking ethics like these? Can you imagine what would happen if it were in the hands of those with a distorted mindset, turning it into something as ineffective as their manipulative treatments? This also explains the unfounded criticism we receive from some self-proclaimed "experts" in the field.
We are aware that there are also "good ones," but if we have to examine hundreds of candidates to find one, we believe it is wiser to focus our efforts on spreading the method in countries that place greater value on patient well-being.
Only in the AtlantoMed Centers listed on our website can you find Atlas correction specialists who use the patented Atlantovib with Vibro-Resonance devices, the self-balancing massager BalaVib, which triples the efficiency of the preparatory massage, and the laser system SpineLine, enabling precise posture measurement before and after the treatment. In these Centers, the staff possesses all the necessary expertise to ensure effective and safe Atlas correction.
Only in this way can you benefit from the best possible results for your specific case. To get a concrete idea of the extreme effectiveness of our method, we invite you to explore the testimonials section at the bottom of each page on our website, where you will find 10,000 documented experiences in various languages.
The AtlantoMed treatment generally consists of just two sessions. During the first session, the need for correction is assessed, followed by a meticulous massage using the AtlantoVib device. This device, utilising Vibro-Resonance, relieves muscle tension along the spine, preparing the body for the actual correction. In particular cases, the treatment may be preceded by a preparatory session.
The second session is aimed at rechecking and, if necessary, refining the correction. The session also involves further muscle relaxation to address any new tensions that may have developed as a result of postural rebalancing. For more details, you can consult the detailed procedure.
We have two informational videos that illustrate the different phases of Atlas correction: an introduction video and a video about the AtlantoVib device.
As with any therapy or treatment, Atlas correction has some contraindications that should be carefully read before booking the first session.
The Centre you choose from our list will be available to answer any specific questions or concerns. Many of your general questions may be answered directly through Live Chat. You can consult the list of known contraindications for Atlas correction.
After the AtlantoMed treatment, the body enters a self-regulation phase, which may manifest through various reactions.
Postural changes can cause discomfort or mild pain. It is entirely normal to experience a few days of fatigue, an increased need for rest, muscle soreness, or discomfort in the neck, back, or lower back, as well as joint pain in the knees or hips, due to the adaptation of pelvic tilt.
The duration and intensity of these reactions can vary significantly and are subjective, influenced by factors such as age, general health, mental attitude, individual sensitivity, and the duration of the pre-existing painful condition.
In rare cases, some symptoms may temporarily worsen immediately after treatment, including headaches, dizziness, and other issues. These reactions, though infrequent, are generally temporary and tend to improve gradually over time.
If you have concerns or persistent symptoms, we recommend discussing them with the professional at the AtlantoMed Centre to receive personalised guidance and reassurance.
It is understandable that some people may have doubts or downplay the importance of Atlas correction. While it is an effective treatment for many disorders, Atlas correction should not be seen as a universal solution for all health problems. Misunderstandings may arise from a superficial understanding of the information presented on this site or elsewhere.
The extensive list of disorders mentioned is not based on theories but on observations made on hundreds of thousands of people over the years. It is important to emphasise that the successes achieved through Atlas correction do not exclude the possibility that the same disorder may have different causes in other individuals.
The site provides a comprehensive and transparent overview. It is essential to understand that every case is unique, and results can vary significantly depending on various factors. Atlas correction can contribute greatly to the prevention and improvement of health, but it should not be seen as the only possible solution.
History teaches us that every revolutionary innovation must go through four inevitable phases: first it is ignored, then ridiculed, later attacked, and if it survives, it eventually becomes an accepted standard.
When therapists or doctors criticise our work, they usually do so without knowing WHAT we do and HOW we operate. They base their opinions on false assumptions derived from what they believe they know about the AtlantoMed method, without realising the inaccuracy of their beliefs. Our approach is new and revolutionary, and therefore inevitably unfamiliar to those who raise criticism.
Making comparisons with what is already known is natural, as it is an inherent learning mechanism in humans. However, it is crucial to understand that a truly unique innovation requires thorough analysis before it can be adequately evaluated.
The problem arises when attempts are made to apply comparison frameworks to something entirely new that did not previously exist. While other therapists may treat and manipulate the Atlas vertebra, the AtlantoMed method is unique, and the results achieved with our approach are not comparable to other techniques.
A common mistake among critics of AtlantoMed is to rely on isolated cases of individuals who did not benefit from the treatment, ignoring those who experienced significant improvements. Seventy-five percent of patients who responded positively to the treatment do not require further therapy and, therefore, do not turn to the critics, who only observe those who did not achieve the desired results. It is crucial to consider the full range of experiences rather than basing judgments on a limited and unrepresentative selection.
This distorted perception leads to a completely false opinion of AtlantoMed and Atlas correction. There are also criticisms driven by envy or financial interests—a surprisingly large category.
Even those who did not achieve results may fall into the same trap, believing that the treatment is ineffective or a scam. However, they overlook the fact that 75% of treated individuals have obtained concrete results.
Unlike many osteopaths and chiropractors, we openly publish our long-term results, which is quite rare. We do not believe it is normal to have to continuously repeat a treatment to achieve sustainable benefits.
Short-term results can be achieved in various ways. It is in long-term results where AtlantoMed stands out significantly.
Furthermore, the common understanding of what can be achieved with cervical spine treatment is based on the results of older techniques, which have never been able to effectively correct the Atlas (a CT scan before and after is enough to confirm this).
As a result, therapists have never had the opportunity to observe what can truly happen after a REAL Atlas correction. Therefore, our results may seem exaggerated and unrealistic compared to those of older techniques. This could justify a critical judgment based on that assumption, without implying bad faith on the part of therapists. The substantial difference in methodologies explains the disparity in results and justifies the innovative approach of AtlantoMed.
Many believe that treatments performed on the cervical spine can be dangerous. It is important to clarify that any risks are exclusively associated with chiropractic manipulations, commonly known as "thrust" techniques.
The AtlantoMed method is based on a completely innovative and entirely risk-free approach. Atlas correction has nothing to do with traditional chiropractic or osteopathic techniques, nor with other therapies you may have experienced in the past. No sudden twisting movements of the neck, tractions, or compressions on the cervical area are performed.
Unlike traditional cervical manipulations, which require repeated interventions over time, the AtlantoMed treatment is unique and long-lasting.
The AtlantoMed Atlas correction treatment is not only safe but also highly recommended for children. It is important to check and, if necessary, promptly realign the cervical vertebrae of the child to prevent potential future disorders.
The treatment can be performed from the first months of life, and what makes it even more reassuring is that Atlas correction in infants and children does not require the use of devices as it does for adults.
To promote prevention and support families, AtlantoMed Centres offer free correction for one child, up to 8 years old, during the second session of one of the parents.
People aged 70, 80, and even 90 have benefited from the treatment, reporting excellent feedback and significant improvements in their symptoms.
However, in some specific cases, the treatment may not be recommended.
Eligibility is always assessed individually, taking into account general health conditions. We invite you to also consult the contraindications for more information.
We recommend cervical exercises, as the body is designed to move and can remain healthy over time only if it is regularly trained, fully utilising the entire range of motion of the joints.
Exercising the neck muscles is beneficial but may, in some cases, worsen symptoms if the anatomical structure is compromised.
It is important to emphasise that, although cervical exercises can be helpful, they are not capable of correcting Atlas misalignment.
Without effective correction, it will not be possible to achieve all the benefits associated with proper vertebral realignment. Moreover, relying solely on exercises, even if improvements occur, usually leads to relapses as soon as the exercises are stopped. For more information, we invite you to carefully read our website.
The combination of Atlas correction followed by cervical exercises has proven to be the most effective solution.
To effectively and safely correct an Atlas misalignment caused by trauma, it is essential to have specific training, the right tools, and extensive experience. These competencies are not always present in your trusted therapist, as this treatment differs significantly from traditional practices.
The primary challenge lies in the precise determination of vertebral alignment, a factor often underestimated, which can lead to evaluation errors and the absence of tangible results.
The Atlas is hidden within the neck, encased and protected by multiple layers of muscles. Its inaccessible location makes verifying its alignment through palpation difficult.
This requires a high level of manual skill, the correct technique, and extensive experience from the practitioner to minimise evaluation errors. Most therapists underestimate this complexity, making unconscious mistakes and believing they can handle the treatment when they actually cannot.
A therapist specialised in the Atlas, who primarily treats this area of the body, possesses skills and expertise that differ greatly from those of a general therapist. This explains why it is advisable to turn to specialised clinics for Atlas correction rather than local therapists, without diminishing their other competencies.
Similar to the distinction between general practitioners and specialists, there are Atlas specialists who, before specialising, were already physiotherapists, osteopaths, or doctors.
A general therapist may easily make errors when assessing the Atlas. In fact, when multiple therapists are asked to evaluate the same Atlas, conflicting opinions about its alignment are often obtained.
Manual palpation of the Atlas requires specific skills and extensive experience, and the error rate among non-specialised therapists in this field can reach 50%. Even if a therapist correctly determines the Atlas position, they would still be unable to correct its misalignment without the use of specific techniques and tools, such as those used in the AtlantoMed method. Anyone who claims otherwise has likely never verified the outcome of their interventions with objective radiological methods. A REAL Atlas correction cannot be performed solely with hands. Similarly, a general practitioner is not qualified to perform heart surgery without specialised training.
It is unfortunate to encounter therapists who market their outdated manipulative techniques as "Atlas correction" simply because those are the only techniques they know and practice. Unfortunately, the patient, lacking a basis for comparison, remains unaware of the deception. Your trusted therapist may be excellent in many other areas, but true Atlas correction, according to the AtlantoMed method, which offers lasting results, is not within their expertise unless they are listed among our certified therapists.
If you are satisfied with temporary results, there are many alternative therapies that your therapist can certainly offer you. However, upon reflection, would you be willing to undergo heart surgery performed by a general practitioner?
We invite you to also read the next FAQ: "The difference between Atlas correction and cervical manipulation?"
Traditional therapies generally tend to suppress pain or symptoms, neglecting the actual cause of the problem. This approach is the best way to never truly get rid of the issue, benefiting everyone except the well-being of the patient.
AtlantoMed, on the other hand, adopts a different approach, focusing on one of the main causes that compromise the body's proper functioning. This can be the origin of a wide range of symptoms and disorders, even those seemingly unrelated.
Our goal is not to turn you into a regular client. We plan for only two sessions, and if all goes well, there will be no further appointments unless you would like a relaxing massage, either manual or with the AtlantoVib device. Alternatively, if you wish to accompany friends or family members interested in the treatment, we would be delighted to see you again. In that case, we can have a coffee together and, if you'd like, record a short video interview about your experience, similar to those featured on our website.
Although they target the same anatomical area, Atlas correction and cervical manipulations differ significantly in both objectives and execution methods, leading to different outcomes.
Traditional cervical manipulation takes only a fraction of a second and is performed manually, whereas an AtlantoMed treatment involves two sessions of 75 minutes each, conducted with the assistance of a specialised device.
The purpose of a cervical manipulation is to restore neck mobility and temporarily relieve painful symptoms, but its effect tends to fade over time. Manipulating the cervical area carries a certain risk due to the sudden rotation of the head, which places considerable strain on the delicate cervical structures. Even in the most skilled hands, a residual risk remains.
If the symptoms are indeed caused by a misaligned Atlas, the AtlantoMed treatment typically offers lasting or permanent results, as the method aims to address the root cause of the problem. We emphasise that "typically" does not mean "in all cases."
We do not wish to create false expectations as many others do: you may fall within the 25% of cases where the treatment does not resolve the issue. Carefully reviewing the entire site will help you better understand the various factors that can influence the outcome.
The real question is: would you prefer to keep repeating the same traditional therapies or try an innovative approach that could potentially be the definitive solution?
The true Atlas correction with Vibro-Resonance is an exclusive innovation of AtlantoMed, the result of over two decades of continuous research. Both the method and the essential equipment for the treatment are constantly refined to maximise effectiveness.
Due to the exceptional effectiveness of the AtlantoMed method, many practitioners in the field attempt to capitalise on our success by imitating what we do. Increasingly, one encounters practitioners who offer outdated cervical manipulations or other obsolete treatments, rebranding them as Atlas correction or Atlas realignment. These treatments, in reality, have nothing to do with genuine Atlas correction and inevitably do not produce the same results.
It is crucial to be informed and vigilant. Before investing time and money, make sure the therapist is genuinely part of the AtlantoMed team. If a therapist is not listed in the AtlantoMed directory, they are not affiliated with our team, regardless of what they may claim! This caution is essential to avoid wasting resources and to protect your well-being.
Immediately after an Atlas correction treatment with AtlantoMed's Vibro-Resonance, it is common for people to experience greater neck mobility, a feeling of lightness in the head, and an enhanced sense of stability on their feet.
A mild discomfort may be felt for a few days at the base of the skull, where the Vibro-Pressure was applied. This is a normal and temporary effect of the treatment.
Many report sleeping better than usual after the realignment. A study showed a reduction in sleep disturbances or insomnia in 78% of cases.
The AtlantoMed treatment can significantly impact posture. In the following days, the body will gradually adapt to the new alignment, which may cause some discomfort or a temporary worsening of the symptoms that led to the treatment.
There is no need to worry; these reactions indicate that the self-regulation mechanism has been activated. It is enough to be patient as the body completes the adaptation and regeneration phase.
After Atlas correction with the AtlantoMed method, the body enters a phase of self-regulation, with reactions that vary depending on the individual's physical and mental condition prior to treatment.
For some people, balance is restored quickly, while others, especially those who have suffered from dysfunctions for an extended period, may require more time to notice changes. Although the impact of the treatment is significant, the ability to restore the body's proper functioning and alleviate symptoms can vary.
Various factors can influence the recovery process and alter the results, making it impossible to predict with certainty the outcome of the treatment or the time needed to observe its benefits.
In summary, some cases experience symptom improvement or resolution almost immediately, others may need to be patient for a longer period (even 5-6 months) to notice improvements, while the remaining 25% of treated individuals do not benefit from the treatment for various reasons.
The meticulous preparatory massage with AtlantoVib is what produces tangible effects on the musculoskeletal system.
Subsequently, as the immediate effect of reducing deep muscle tension fades, the positive impact of the cervical vertebrae realignment becomes increasingly evident. Postural improvement gradually becomes more noticeable.
The treatment triggers a self-regulation process that continues independently for many months.
Although the massage effect diminishes over time, muscle tension does not return to its initial levels, as posture has improved in the meantime, and the body functions more efficiently.
This breaks the vicious cycle of pain > muscle tension > further pain, which is often addressed with muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatories, or painkillers.
We remind you that instrumental massage can be repeated as needed, independently of vertebral correction.
As for the circulatory and nervous systems, since this is purely a mechanical treatment, any nerve or blood vessel compressions caused directly or indirectly by a misaligned Atlas are immediately reduced, with all the associated benefits.
The release of a nerve or blood vessel is felt quickly: it is comparable to removing a stone that had fallen on a garden hose, preventing water from flowing.
For some people, a migraine that tormented them just an hour earlier becomes a distant memory by the end of the session. In other cases, it is necessary to wait for the self-regulation and regeneration phase to run its course and complete itself.
It is important to understand that results vary from person to person and also depend on overall health. For example, in cases of a cervical spine already degenerated due to osteoarthritis or damaged intervertebral discs, or a straightened or inverted neck, one should not expect any corrective treatment to magically resolve established damage. This is why we place so much emphasis on prevention.
We highlight this to prevent unrealistic expectations. Some people might be misled into believing that a single treatment will resolve all their problems, ignoring the severity of their pre-existing conditions, and may become disappointed as a result.
AtlantoMed can help many, but it is not a universal solution for everyone.
In most cases, the AtlantoMed method of Atlas correction with Vibro-Resonance requires only a single application, with results that tend to be long-lasting.
It is rare for the Atlas to become misaligned again after the treatment. If this does happen, the Atlas may return to its original position or stabilise in an intermediate position. In such cases, the treatment can be repeated. The evaluation of the Atlas, which takes only a few minutes, is always free and without obligation.
If symptoms reappear after a certain period, it is not always easy to determine whether they are due to a new Atlas misalignment or other causes.
Sometimes people worry unnecessarily, immediately associating the symptom with a presumed new misalignment, while in most cases it is merely a temporary muscle hardening, which can occur independently of the Atlas position.
In these situations, the solution might be to wait for the muscle contraction to reduce spontaneously or opt for a massage, perhaps with AtlantoVib, which can help resolve the issue without the need for further Atlas interventions.
To better understand the potential causes of a recurrence and why the Atlas might become misaligned again, it is helpful to consult specific information on the topic: Can the Atlas become misaligned again?
A doctor's opinion on AtlantoMed and Atlas correction can vary greatly depending on their education, personal experience, conflicts of interest, and openness to alternative therapeutic approaches.
Professional scepticism and caution
Many doctors and other professionals rooted in conventional medicine tend to view non-traditional practices like Atlas correction with scepticism. This scepticism often stems from the fact that such approaches are not recognised by official medical protocols and lack robust, peer-reviewed clinical studies published in prestigious scientific journals. As a result, AtlantoMed is often perceived as a practice not aligned with evidence-based medicine.
Empirical results and interest in innovation
Other doctors, with a more open mindset, show curiosity about the potential benefits of Atlas correction, especially when patients report significant improvements. While statements like "after AtlantoMed, I no longer experienced migraines" do not constitute formal scientific proof, they carry significant value by reflecting tangible patient experiences.
Personal experiences and favourable opinions
If a doctor has direct or indirect experience with patients who benefited from Atlas correction, they are more likely to form a favourable opinion of the practice. However, such openness is often accompanied by caution, particularly regarding the indications and limitations of the treatment.
Direct testimonials versus scientific studies
Although AtlantoMed does not yet have validated scientific studies, over 10,000 direct testimonials are publicly available, providing a significant source of insight. When a method achieves a success rate above 75%, it becomes difficult to attribute the results solely to the placebo effect. We are currently implementing a system to conduct continuous, automated studies on various disorders, involving all AtlantoMed-treated patients. This system will use standardised and validated questionnaires to systematically collect data and contribute to the scientific assessment of the method.
Moreover, the link between misalignment of the first cervical vertebra and various disorders is now widely recognised, with numerous scientific studies supporting it. These studies are available at the bottom of the pages dedicated to specific disorders on this site. We take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Professor Paolo Zamboni and his team for their efforts in this field, which have scientifically confirmed our postulates dating back to 2006. Once ridiculed and criticised, these ideas are now gaining solid scientific recognition.
Recognition as a complementary therapy
Some professionals, while not fully embracing the AtlantoMed philosophy, acknowledge Atlas correction as a complementary approach. This perspective is especially common in cases where traditional treatments have not produced satisfactory results, offering an alternative option to address certain issues.
Criticism, negative judgments, and conflicts of interest
It is important not to underestimate the influence of economic interests and fear of losing patients to innovative treatments that challenge the status quo. For some doctors, AtlantoMed may be seen as a disruptive threat to their professional standing, as the evident successes of Atlas correction could embarrass or undermine their credibility. Justifying a complete recovery achieved through a single AtlantoMed treatment can be difficult for those who previously deemed the condition incurable. Additionally, for those who follow the logic that "a cured patient is a lost patient," AtlantoMed may simply represent a financial loss.
The satisfaction of those who have received the AtlantoMed treatment is high, with more than 75% of clients reporting positive results. For more details on various disorders and treatment outcomes, you can consult a dedicated study.
Additionally, on the AtlantoMed website, you can access an extensive collection of testimonials, experiences, reviews, and video interviews. At the bottom of each page, you will find six panels directing you to these resources, which include 10,000 cases in various languages. These testimonials provide a broader and more detailed view of the effectiveness and overall experience of the AtlantoMed treatment.
